Anouk Focquier is an art producer, curator and arts manager within the visual and media arts. In 2014 she established Berserk Art Agency, a nomadic connector platform for visual & media arts as a new player in the field, positioned between academies, galeries and production houses, offering long term collaborations to both individual artists and art organizations/platforms. Berserk Art Agency deliberately has no permanent gallery space and we experiment with new ways of representation practices.
She is specifically interested in the relation between the arts and the wider society, how arts can claim their essential role within societies and the position of the artist. Within this context she co-curated the permanent art integration project of the prison of Haren (2021-2023) and is doing research on the language and visual language within contemporary arts institutions (2023-ongoing).
Since 2015 Anouk is managing Werktank, factory for old and new media in Leuven. Werktank functions as a production and distribution platform for media arts and seeks to support artists to experiment, learn, share and bring their practice to a new level.
