Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir “Some things…” & Laetitia Bica “Point de croix” at ISELP
The ninth event of Saloon Brussels took place at ISELP, where we have been welcomed by Catherine Henkinet, curator of “Some things…”, a monographic exhibition of the body of work by the Brussels-based Icelanding artist Guðný Rósa Ingimarsdóttir. Catherine gave us a private tour of the exhibition, an enlightening walk through the very personal work of the artist, her techniques and her extended research at the crossing between words, stories and images.
To complete the visit, Saloon member Laetitia Bica presented the backstory of her satellite exhibition “Point de croix”, resulting from a series of workshops she designed and led, bringing together young and elderly participants. Laetita told us about the series of silk prints, collages and the publications that were created around citizen’s involvement in issues such as climate emergency, social struggles and occupation movements.
