Evelyne de Behr’s artistic research is rooted in the intimacy of her daily life as a woman artist. With a detoured approach to painting, she creates installations that touch on the unfinished and the fragility of disappearance. A polyphony of discrete elements interrogates the creative space and our relationship with reality. A system of fragmentation and articulation between elements – readymades collected in situ, photographs, drawings and painting objects, video – reflects this desire to question the porous boundaries between art and life.

Following a Master’s degree in Cultural Management (ULB), she worked with curator C.
Frilling for the Broothaers catalog at Wiels, in 2023 she created the LOSANGE project, a space dedicated to contemporary creation within her private space, an Art Nouveau house in Brussels. LOSANGE offers two exhibitions a year, with a special focus on women artists and curators. She wrote her scientific work about: Acquisition politic of artworks by the FWB and the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Grand Hornu through the prism of gender, 2000- 2020.

Her works are awarded and presented in various contemporary art center in Belgium and France: CACLB ; La MAS -Maison des Arts Schaerbeek, Monographies d’Artistes – Médiatine, Biennale d’Enghien, Office d’Art Contemporain, ISELP, Fondation de la Tapisserie, ImagesGalerie Détour, Drawing Art Center website (NY), La Part du Feu. Her work has also been developed in various art residencies in Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal.
